Why a Trampoline is the Ultimate in Garden Fun
Trampolines are commonly seen in family backyards and garden settings, and loved by children all over the world. In many ways, a trampoline (Trampoliner) is the ultimate outdoor recreation product, as they are enjoyed by children and adults of all ages. Despite their simple appearance and basic design, trampolines provide bouncy, bouncy fun season after season and year after year. A trampoline is made from a piece of taut, strong fabric which is stretched over a strong steel frame. The movement in the fabric comes from the use of many coiled springs, which are often covered in modern trampoline designs as a way to protect people if they happen to fall on to them while bouncing. While trampolines are also used in competition, training, and fitness routines, recreational trampolines like the ones seen in backyards are by far the most common and popular style on the market.
While the first modern trampoline was not invented until 1936, there were a number of cultures around the world that used trampoline-like devices for fun and ritual use. For example, the Inuit people would throw each other into the air using a walrus skin, and there is also evidence of people in Europe tossing others into the air using blankets and similar devices. However, the modern trampoline that we know and loves comes from George Nissen and Larry Griswold, when they were looking for a way to advance their diving and gymnastics training routines. There has always been a strong link between competitive sports and trampolines, even though the recreational use of trampolines is now more popular. For kids and the young at heart, there has never been another home product that can compete with the trampoline in terms of novelty and fun appeal.
There are a number of ways to have fun on a trampoline, from basic bouncing through to complex tumbles and flips. However, more advanced use of trampolines can be dangerous, so it is always a good idea to install safety equipment. In fact, many modern trampolines are sold with safety gear, such as safety nets, spring covering systems, and ladders. For any young family or modern household that is looking for a fun and inexpensive way to entertain their children, it is hard to beat the humble trampoline. Kids often use them for long periods of time, and entertain themselves while bouncing the day away.
